Swimming Into The Dark

River Day
(Grasswork Books, Pune - 2004)

"The deep underlying spiritual quality of ‘River Day’ stays with the reader for a long time."

"Randhir Khare’s collection of select poems, River Day written during the last two decades is a wonderful mix, so rare to find these days. The deep underlying spiritual quality of the poetry is somehow haunting and stays with the reader long after one has finished reading the poems. The sequence Green Is the Colour of Memory is particularly vivid, and narrates the story of many of us. The title poem River Day is born out of his experiences travelling in the Kutch region of Gujarat and the intensity of other people’s life exposed to us by the author gives palpable reading pleasure.
One wishes desperately that such quality of writing could be found in many more poets." - Review by Lekshmy Rajeev © Deccan Herald
