BIOGRAPHY
British Citzen - DOB:25/10/1953
Susan Bullough received her educational training in England,
where in addition to teaching she also
worked
as an Occupational Therapist in a psychiatric unit, including
drama work on locked wards, and as a House Parent in a children's
home for emotionally disturbed and hearing impaired children.
For more that two decades, she lived in Ireland where she
had her own organic smallholding and raised two sons. In
addition she ran private art classes and worked with girls
with Downs Syndrome.
She also ran the Intercultural Education Programme for the
Kerry Education Center for two years.
Working as a freelance consultant, specialising in Arts
& Cultural Education, Susan runs projects for schools
and career development courses for teachers and teacher
training students.
She
has conducted workshops for women, minority groups, children
with special needs and arts festivals in India and Europe.
She has produced educational resources, including a video
entitled "Life & Crafts of India" and two
educational packs – one on the Banjaras and the other
on Indian Jewellery.

Susan Bullough has contributed to conferences and workshops
in Ireland, England, Holland,
Portugal and France
and has designed educational programmes for Travellers and gypsies
in England, Scotland and Ireland.
Susan's
India experience has spanned nearly two decades (Click

and she has grass-roots experience of the work of artists and
crafts people in many different Indian States including Kerala,
Rajasthan, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. She has
used her arts and intercultural education programmes to develop
exchange projects between schools in India and Ireland.
These
interactions over a long period of time have given
her a valuable perspective of India. Susan's work in India has
been
extensive. She has conducted
innumerable
workshops with
professionals, non-professionals,
teachers and students,
using art as a significant channel of communication and continues
to be a significant resource person for formal and non-formal
art programmes for learning and self development.
She
has also contributed to programmes on 'Peace and Reconciliation'
and also 'Environment Issues'.

Susan's professional expertise is available for education and
non-education work - wherever art can be used as a meaningful
self-discovery tool.
As a , her work has been exhibited in galleries, libraries, education
centers, schools and restaurants in Europe and India, and appears
in a number of books, anthologies, journals, magazines and newspapers.
Books include, 'DANGS: Journeys Into The Heartland' and
'KUTCH: Triumph Of The Spirit', 'People Unlike Us'
and 'Call Of The Blue Mountains'.

Now
involved with a suicide prevention group in India Susan has done
additional training in order to extend her work in the area of
counseling and art therapy.
